For breakfast you will see three kinds of egg dishes, bacon, and maple sausage, or choose a breakfast burrito, or a hot ham and cheese croissant sandwich.  Don’t forget our oven roasted potatoes.  Also there is hot oatmeal and cream of wheat plus giant and mini muffins as well as over 30 varieties of donuts and pastries that are baked daily.

For lunch you can always order your favorite custom made deli sandwich or choose from our variety of homemade panini sandwiches, made with the finest ingredients the market can buy - great for that Wine Country picnic.  One of the Sonoma Market’s best kept secrets is that you can order a custom made, hot off the grill hamburger with all the condiments as well as our made to order burritos, tacos, and tortas. 

Now let’s talk about dinner.  Seven nights a week there are well over 35 hot items to choose from including roasted turkey with all the trimmings, sweedish meatballs, homemade enchiladas, lasagnas, and many other ethnic choices.  We also have 16 choices of hot soups, chilis, and chowders.  You could easily build your own 4, 5, 6, (or more) course meal.  We also chill and package most of our hot food bar items so when you’re in a hurry you can just grab and go and reheat at home. 

Our salad bar is over 30 feet with over 40 choices of the freshest ingredients available to create your own masterpiece or choose from our 20 homemade prepared salads.  If you are in a hurry you can always grab and go with our pre-made salads or the pre-made Caesar salad kit that comes with Caesar dressing, croutons, and shaved parmesano reggiano cheese just add romaine lettuce.

Before you go on your way make sure you see our bakery.  We offer gluten free and sugar free items as well as some of the best artisan made items we can find, such as Ackerman’s famous coffee cakes, Della Fattoria artisan breads, and Sonoma’s own Studebaker’s gourmet cheesecakes.  We are also proud to be the only store in California to currently carry cookies and brownies made by the WOW Company which are all natural ingredients, gluten free, and amazingly delicious.

Our coffee bar should never be an after thought whether it’s Peet’s hot coffee or tea first thing in the morning, wheat grass shooter’s for an afternoon pick-me-up, or a nutritional fruit smoothie to refresh you during the day. 

All these food items are brought to you from a caring staff of over 40 employees with over 100 years of accumulated time at the Sonoma Market and Glen Ellen Village Market.  This very respected and hard working crew is led by the deli director Chris Mazzanti. 

Chris comes to the market as a 3rd generation Sonoma County resident and has been cooking professionally for over 20 years.  The experience that Chris brings to the market includes apprenticing in Italy and France and working as the kitchen manager in the education department at the Culinary Institute of America at Greystone in a 35,000 square foot kitchen.  He was also an instructor of Culinary Arts at both the Napa Valley Community College and the Santa Rosa Junior College.  As chef de cuisine at Madrona Manor he was invited to the James Beard Foundation as one of the best hotel Chefs in America and he also worked as private chef for the Joe Montana family.
